National Trust Fossil Walks

We are working with the National Trust to provide fossil tours at Compton Bay!

These tours are 1 hour in duration.

During the tour, your guide Megan will take you back in time to the Cretaceous, some 130 million years ago. Megan will use the fossils and clues in the rocks to build a picture of the dramatic changes the island has undergone, as well as showing you how to find your own piece of prehistoric treasure!

The walks finish with the indisputable evidence that dinosaurs once roamed across the island – the famous Hanover Point dinosaur footprints!
