Head out into the island’s biodiverse intertidal zone with island marine biologists Theo Vickers and Laura McConnell to discover an incredible world of Isle of Wight marine life, from anemones and velvet crabs to blennies, sea slugs and cormorants!

Theo and Laura’s popular rockpool safaris take place regularly across the island year-round, and aim to give both islanders and visitors a hands-on educational experience with the rich diversity of marine life that lives on the Isle of Wight’s shores!
You’ll be able to encounter everything from catshark egg-cases in Solent seagrass meadows to UV anemones in Ventnor’s rockpools! Importantly, all the species encountered are recorded and submitted to the island’s local biological records, meaning you can help contribute valuable data on the island’s marine biodiversity!
